Donations & E-Payments
We request information from the visitor on our donation forms, which are managed and secured by the GiveLively.org. A donor is required to provide contact information (such as name, email, and mailing address) and payment information (such as credit card number and expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and for sending a receipt of the donation. If we have trouble processing a donation, we use the provided information to contact the visitor. SOAP does not store or have access to financial and credit card information.
All payment information on this website is encrypted data, and the communication of your private information from any address beginning with “https” is encrypted and secured using SSL (see “Security” section below). All website pages on operation soap.org should display a small lock to the left of our webpage address in the top of your browser.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Cookies
SOAP uses “cookies” or small information files stored by a visitor’s web browser, to collect anonymous data about website visitors. The information is of a non-personal nature.

How long we retain your data
If you register to as a donor with SOAP, this information is retained indefinitely for legal and accounting purposes. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
SOAP will make a good faith effort to preserve visitor privacy. However, we may need to disclose personal information if legally required to do so (e.g., to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order, or legal process served on our website).

SOAP will post those changes to this privacy statement on this page so that our visitors are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
