We were all delighted to meet the sweetest grandma last week—Zubeida! Unfortunately, we met her because she fell and broke her hip… This past week, our SOAP team was joined by Dr. Jason Halvorson, an orthopedic surgeon specializing in trauma from Wake Forest. This was a perfect case for Dr. Jason and Dr. Ani to perform and teach— it is always beneficial to review common injuries and their best practices, especially in patients with multiple underlying medical problems. Zubeida and her family were so happy with her surgery, that they invited Dr. Jason to their home for dinner! He was very sorry to have to decline, as he flew back to the States today, and she’s not quite ready for discharge, but he got a huge grin when she asked him, nonetheless!
