Hello again, SOAP Friends! Today, I’d like you to meet Magdalena. She had an accident that left her with two broken legs. She was able to pay for the surgery on her left leg, but then was unable to pay for the surgery on the right leg. This was the week before our team arrived, but SOAP colleague, Dr. Charity, from Louisville was here teaching at KCMC. SOAP was able to step in and pay for the right leg, thanks to your kind donations!
I’m pleased to report that Magdalena was discharged today and will follow up in clinic for the removal of the external hardware. Thank you, SOAP donors, for allowing Magdalena to get the surgery she needed and providing an excellent teaching case for the KCMC residents!
