Hello from Moshi Town to our Friends of SOAP!

I’d like you to meet another SOAP patient— Tumaini. This young man had a broken femur (upper leg bone) that required surgical treatment, but he did not have the money to pay for his surgery. Through your generous support, SOAP was able to fund the surgery that Tumaini needed! A rod was placed in his upper leg to stabilize it and will allow the bone to heal. He also broke both bones in his lower leg—his tibia and fibula—but, thankfully, those were able to be treated without surgery. We are delighted to report that he is healing well!

The hospital that is kindly hosting SOAP is Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center (KCMC), which is in Moshi— referred to by Tanzanians as “Moshi Town.” Just out the door of the hospital is a view of Kili, when she decides to show herself. We finally got a peek of her this morning— magnificent! (And, no, the tree on the left is NOT a cell phone tower! 🙂

Thank you, once again, for your belief in SOAP’s mission!
