It is with a deep spirit of thanksgiving that we share this update on SOAP— Surgeries Overseas Assistance Program.
Through your incredible generosity, SOAP has far surpassed its fundraising goals for this inaugural year! To date, more than $55,000.00 has been donated to bolster the education of international surgeons and facilitate the care of patients in need. We are blown away by your gracious investment in SOAP’s mission!
SOAP’s next mission to Tanzania in February is rapidly approaching! We are busy collecting donated supplies and making arrangements for our visit. In other exciting news— Members of SOAP’s Board of Directors had the pleasure of hosting a chief resident from Tanzania recently! Dr. Saiyed spent 2 weeks with us as he observed surgeries in Charlotte and Winston-Salem. His fellowship in the US was sponsored by Handzania, and also included work with orthopedic surgeons in Chicago and Louisville that share SOAP’s mission of international teaching. We are excited to see him again when we return to Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center!
